Roosey Relays 2026

Join us in the 2nd Annual Roosey Relays event.
When: Saturday August 22nd 6:30 am
Where: Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Eastvale CA

We will be operating under a floating schedule. Race times are approximate. Awards for top three individuals and top three relays in each race will be given at the podium on the infield.

Gates open at 6:00 am.

6:30 am Open Race AND Community 3-person relay race. Same start time. Either you have a baton, or you don't. 

7:30 am F/S Girls open Race - top 25 medal
7:50 am F/S Boys Open Race - top 25 medal
8:15 am Varsity Elite Girls Relay
5-person Relay (A&B Teams)
9:15 am Varsity Elite Boys Relay 5-person Relay (A&B Teams)
10:10 am JV/Var Girls Open 10:00 am Top 50 get medals

Purpose: With CIF-SS Cross-Country season officially beginning August 18th, please consider signing your team up for a FAST 1.5 mile course set to take place on a hopefully cool Saturday morning.

MAIN FEATURE:   Roosey Relays
Schools may enter up to two varsity relay teams (A & B).
Top three teams will be recognized at the podium.

24-48 hours in advance.

ERHS Alumni athletes & ERHS staff pay $20.
$20/individual (1 lap, 1.5 miles) or $50/team (3 laps, 4.5 miles total)

course description

The 1.5 mile course will take place solely on Eleanor Roosevelt High School Campus. The starting line is the high school track's finish line, athletes will run out of the track onto the service road, and will follow the course into the student parking lot.

The spectator friendly course will see athletes running past our campus' state of the art STEM Academy, through the quad, in front of the swim and tennis facilities before making their way around and into the stadium for either a photo finish or baton exchange.
​We hope you choose Roosey Relays to open your season.

Athlete staging area

Athlete check-in:
There will be a tent by the Shot Put Staging Area where individual F/S & J/V athletes will check in before the relays competitors. 

Only Volunteers & competing athletes will be allowed on the infield turf throughout the competition.

Athletes:
Only competing athletes will be allowed on the infield turf. Once your race is over, please exit into the turf and exit the way you entered, please.

Coaches corner & packet pickup

Location: Near the STEM building where all the team tents will be set up. We will have a few canopies setup away from the commotion, where coaches can get wristbands and entry into the coaches corner for donuts, coffee, etc. 

Packet pickup will take place here. Please have your check mailed by the dates below, otherwise, be prepared to cut a check at packet pickup. Thank you.

We will have a volunteer guiding busses off of Orange street into parking. With only 10 other teams, it won't be an issue.

Reminder to turn off the sprinklers the night before so teams can setup without soggy conditions.
Make sure there are no obstructions again on the course. Gate monitors at the gate making sure cars don't enter student parking lot.

Coaches: While August in the Inland Empire is definitely hot, please take advantage of the fact that Eleanor Roosevelt HS is located exceptionally close to a horse trail/bike bath that goes both East & West. After the 1.5 mile race, if your athletes need to add on more volume, the trail is a safe option away from the campus and cars. Follow the purple arrow down Granja Vista Del Rio (past Desi House). See Map Below.

August in the Inland Empire (IE)

Coaches, please bring plenty of water, tarp & canopies for your athletes. No Team Set-Up in the stadium.
Spectators are free to bring whatever canopy or umbrella they prefer. 

Meet expectations

​All Spectators are welcome in the stadium. Feel free to bring your own stadium seats, umbrellas, or small EZ-UPs. 

The sidewalk in front of the swimming pool, tennis courts, and stadium is a part of the course, and will be well marked. Please be mindful of the races that are and will be taking place.
There will be volunteers guiding traffic at ONLY the home stadium entrance.

Spectators can also enter via the student parking lot, team set-up area. The gates will be open to enter the home side bleachers at both entrances.


We do not want any interference with the races we have planned. Please educate your spectators, parents & athletes on the rules of the meet.

Both the Visitor & Home side restrooms will be open for the public.
Coaches, Timers, & volunteers will have access to the locker room restrooms on the west end of the track, if necessary.
​T-Shirts      Multicolor championship T-shirts will be on sale for $20.  Cash please.

Team Set-Up
 Please be sure your camp does not interfere with the course, the timing area, or the exchange zones.

We are asking all the teams to set-up their team tent areas on the grass soccer fields located outside of the stadium, near both the softball and baseball fields.

Spectator Parking
VIP Parking will be right next to the stadium for volunteers & those that want/need to have a closer parking spot.

Roosevelt Campus parking lots will fill up quick due to spectator parking.


Spectators that arrive early can find parking in the front of the school along scholar way. Once those parking lots are filled, we will open up the student parking lot as we need to and parking attendants will close the parking lot once we hit capacity.

Please be mindful when parking within the surrounding Eastvale Community and thank you for choosing our event.

We will do our best to accommodate both small & large XC programs alike. Every team will be allowed two Varsity (A) & (B) as well as F/S (A) relay squads into the combined relay races.

Bus Parking Route & Map
1. If low turnout, busses can park in front of River Heights IS. Need a key for the RHIS Orange st. entrance.
2. Busses will enter off of Orange St (North of Stadium) and park on River Heights Intermediate School. Busses will drop student-athletes off on the blacktop at the middle school & athletes can walk from the parking lot to the grass field for team setup.
​There will be a parking attendant present guiding busses to appropriate parking spots. Thank you for your patience.
