Step 1
  • Create an account using an email checked often
    • Please note: if you already have a FanAngel account, you must still use this link, then login. It will automatically link this campaign to your profile. If you do not follow the link, you will not be able to connect this campaign to your profile.
  • STEP 2: Check or add player name and a nice smiling headshot on the first page.
  • STEP 3: In the bottom right corner, click Add Supporter. Input 15 (or more) valid email addresses and/or cell phone numbers (for texts) of your biggest supporters from around the country. We encourage you to consider family, neighbors, co-workers, friends, etc. The individual fundraising goal is $250.
  • STEP 4: That’s it – you’re done with your part! Now you’re welcome to start sharing your profile on social media.
    • Here is a 2-minute video tutorial to help set up your fundraising FanAngel Account at https://pages.fanangel.com/how-to-share.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  1. Once your participant has created their profile, please enter email addresses and cell phone numbers into the queue; they will be sent at a later date once we get everyone entered.
  2. FanAngel uses the industry's most secure privacy and protection standards. Email addresses and phone numbers are never shared or sold.
  3. FanAngel’s automation system will send supporters up to three reminders after launch for emails and two reminders for texts.
  4. When donors visit the page, they will see the participant's individual goal in a separate area of the team goal. Individual goals will initially show $250. Both individual and team goal will automatically increase up to 100% after the initial goal has been met. This staged goal has been shown to increase online fundraising results.

Please use the following suggestion list to help find quality supporters who both have the desire and means to support our program. If you’re not sure if someone would be interested, we highly recommend to still add them - you’ll be surprised who is happy to support us.

Hey All,

Below is a very generic video script; please change it up as needed to fit your group. Or be creative and do your own thing, just remember the key points.
A couple important tips for your video:
  1. Have the participants act excited and sincere - Sincerity goes a long way. The more sincere they are, the more people will psychologically want to donate.
  2. Try to have as many participants of your program in the video as possible - Extended family members want to see their connection with the group.
  3. Then, when the video is complete, upload to a cloud and email me the link; or you can upload it directly on to the "Story" tab on the admin tabs of your campaign.
Some key points to remember in your video is to:
  • tell why you need the funds,
  • mention donations are tax-deductible,
  • tell donors they are needed to get to your goal,
  • have fun…let the participants be crazy and loud...but sincere.
    • Helpful tips: shooting indoors is great to control background noise. If you have a very large group, consider shooting half with [varsity], half with [JV], etc. If you need to shoot from very far away or outdoors, then consider recording the audio on a phone (can use an app called Voice Memo, for example) and email the audio files separately. We will stitch it over the video.
Video Sample Script
Participant 1: Hi, I’m so and so,
Participant 2: Hi, I’m so and so.
Participant 3: Hi, I’m so and so.

Participant 10: And I’m [team captain] so and so…and we are:
All Participants: Mustangs Cross Country!!!
Participant 1: Thank you for visiting our FanAngel page.
Participant 2: We are now working hard for our [upcoming] [season] and striving to [win] our [League, CIF, State] [Championship].
Participant 3: We are fortunate to have a school that supports our program, but, we still need your help to make this year successful for us. We need financial support to pay for meet fees, offset team travel expenses, coaches stipends, fund the end of season awards banquet and other team expenses.
Participant 4: If you are in a position to donate we would be extremely grateful. But, even if you can’t donate, we would appreciate if you would help by spreading the word through email, text, and social media. You can click the buttons below the video to share.
Participant 5: Donations are tax deductible. Once you donate, you will receive the receipt in your email.
Participant 6: Thank you so much! We look forward to seeing you in the [stands]! Mustangs on three. 1, 2, 3
All: Mustangs!!! (Clap and Cheer…BE LOUD AND REAL AND SINCERE…no faking!)
