Perspective

How did the events of the Stock Market Crash in 1929 and
the dust bowl of the 1930's, shape the lives of
the people living through it? WHat was life like for an asian mother? What was life like for an African american farmer? Convince me why your group's perspective had it the worst.

You may use SMORE, CANVA or Pic Collage to create your individual poster.
You can select an area of focus from below, where you will compile historical images, quotes, data and facts on a specific historical perspective/theme. You will individually submit your Poster to the Submission Button located above.

Group 1: Farmers- How did Farmers deal with the Dust Bowl? What were some of their hardships? What were some of their solutions? How could you link some of the key terms from this unit to farmers living during the Great Depression?

Group 2: Women and Children- How did the Great Depression affect women and children? What sorts of difficulties did they face that were different from what men had to face? What sorts of lives did women and children live, in general? Are there any key terms that are relevant to your particular perspective?

Group 3: Men- How did the events of the Great Depression shape the lives of men during this time period? What were some of the hardships they had to face during the Great Depression? Men were working and living lives that differed greatly from each others'. Some men were farmers, others were business men, car salesmen, coal miners... etc., how did the Dust Bowl and the Stock Market Crash affect men during this time period in general?

Group 4: Ghosts (Minorities)- It is easy to find what happened to white Americans living during this time period because it is so well documented. In more recent history, historians have been delving into primary and secondary sources collecting information on how minorities (African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Immigrants, Asians, etc.) lived during this time period. I say ghosts, becasue all too often, minorities' histories are not always told. How did the events of the era known as the Great Depression affect the way minorities lived during this time period?
